Celebrating Our Centenary
On Sunday February 22nd returning into the main Church for Holy Communion we welcome the first of our visiting Ministers of the Centenary Year. Rev Paul Timmis is a Superintendent Minister in the Wimbledon Circuit based at Worcester Park. Paul was born into the Timmis family in Wolverhampton to Doug and Sue, who having met in Questors, were involved in various activities at Beckminster particularly with Junior Church at the time. Beckminster Centenary Commemorative Greetings Card
David and Christine Pedley have donated 50 greetings card showing a picture of Beckminster Methodist Church shortly after it opened in 1926. Beckminster Methodist Church Each card measures 22cm x 13cm and is blank inside. It comes complete with an envelope. Services During January and February
With the colder weather, morning services during January and February will take place in the church hall. The church hall is a much smaller space and easier to heat! Annual Carol Service
A large congregation enjoyed Beckminster's Annual Carol Service on Sunday evening. Each of the soloist sang a verse of O come, O come, Immanuel. Marilyn Bose, Peter Prescott, Barbara Smith and Keith Cheetham. Diane van der Does, Sue Reed, Ann Holt, Peter Prescott, John Ashwood and John Bate delivered the Gospel and other readings. Carol Singing 2025
This year, carol singing with Churches Together in Graiseley & Penn Fields took place on Monday 15th December from 6.30pm to 7.30pm at Tesco in Marston Road raising funds for Action for Children. A second evening took place at Sainsburys, St Marks on Thursday 18th December from 6.30pm to 7.30pm raising funds for The Good Shepherd Ministry. Sunday Club Nativity
Sunday Club presented their Nativity Sketch during the service on 14th December. It was quite a shock to many of the congregation as, if you were handed a Post It note as you came into church, you found yourself at the heart of the action! Gift Sunday
Sunday 7th December was Gift Sunday, this year in support of the Wolverhampton City of Sanctuary project. Donations of men's toiletries were particularly asked for as there is a particular focus this year on supporting young men. Christmas Social Evening 2025
A very successful Christmas Social Evening was held at Beckminster on Saturday 6th December. The large audience, which included friends from other Crossways churches, shared excellent food, great entertainment and enjoyable company. The entertainment was provided by members of the Sandpipers Folk group. Dinner is served! The Catering Team with a selection of tempting desserts. The Chrismon Tree
The Chrismon Tree was brought into church on Tuesday 2nd December 2025 and put in place ready for the decorating team to start adding the symbols. Coffee Mates
Coffee Mates held their final meeting of 2025 at the Inn at Shipley on Monday 1st December. It was well attended and a great time was had by all.
