On Sunday February 22nd returning into the main Church for Holy Communion we welcome the first of our visiting Ministers of the Centenary Year. Rev Paul Timmis is a Superintendent Minister in the Wimbledon Circuit based at Worcester Park. Paul was born into the Timmis family in Wolverhampton to Doug and Sue, who having met in Questors, were involved in various activities at Beckminster particularly with Junior Church at the time. Paul was christened here at Beck and progressed through the Sunday School until the age of 10 when they moved to Balsall Common. Years later Paul, became a Local Preacher and then, after studying at Durham, went into the Ministry at Berkhamsted before moving to his current calling.

Paul's overriding memories as a child at Church though revolve around feeding the birds with Caretaker, Mrs George, with leftover bread following Communion Services. He also unashamedly recalls being in floods of tears on the day Rev Nigel Collinson left Beckminster, nowadays that is reserved for most Saturday afternoons following a Wolves match. Talking of which his other memory of Beck was playing football on the Church Lawn with all the other lads after Sunday School and if the weather unsuitable gravitating around Questors football table in the main hall. Not particularly things normally associated with a Church Minister maybe, yet as a number of the Congregation who have heard him preach will testify, we are fortunate to welcome Paul back to Beckminster.
