Harvest
We will be celebrating our Harvest Service on Sunday, 4 October 2026. This year has been a difficult year for our farmers who have suffered from extremes of weather conditions.
We still enjoy a huge variety of foods that are readily available on a daily basis and we have so much to be thankful for. We need to remember all those who live in areas where food is scarce and be generous in our giving to help those with "less" compared with our "more"..
Our donations will go to the Good Shepherd Ministry to use in their food bank 'The Pantry'.
As usual we'll need help to decorate the 6 window sills in the Church and I'm suggesting each window should be a celebration of the following 1. Fruits, 2. Vegetables, 3. Cereals and Grains, 4. Oils, Nuts and Seeds, 5. Dairy Produce, 6. Spices, Herbs and Seasonings.
You can use photos, pictures, fresh, tinned, packet products and be as creative as you like! I am hoping there will be some volunteers! The church will be open on Saturday, 3 October from 9.30 - 11.00am so you can bring your gifts and create your window displays. You can also bring your donations on Sunday, 4th to the morning service.
This is a list of items that are needed for the food bank:
Tinned Meat and Fish, Sugar, Tinned Vegetables, Coffee, Pot Noodles, Jams and Spreads, Easy Cook Rice, Long Life Milk, Chopped Tomatoes, Tinned Fruits, Curry/Pasta Sauces, Shampoo, Gravy Granules and Deodrant.
Any queries see me at church or contact me on 01902 746316. Many thanks, Trish Prescott.
